A 150-inch UST screen is not just a larger 120-inch screen. The room, projector and furniture geometry all become less forgiving as the image grows.
Start with the wall
A 150-inch 16:9 image is roughly 130.7 inches wide by 73.5 inches high before adding the frame. That is about 10.9 feet of image width. Add frame and mounting clearance, then check baseboards, speakers, doors, switches and ceiling height.
Then check projector geometry
UST projectors create a large image by throwing light upward at a steep angle. To enlarge the image, the projector usually moves farther from the wall and the image grows upward. That can force the projector lower than expected. At 150 inches, a TV console that worked at 100 or 120 inches may be too tall.
Brightness also changes with area
A 150-inch image has 2.25 times the area of a 100-inch image at the same aspect ratio. The projector's light is spread across that larger surface, so peak brightness drops unless projector output increases. A 0.6-gain ALR surface should therefore be paired with a projector that has enough output for the room and image size.
Decide how much ambient light you actually have
Light from windows and ceiling fixtures can wash out projected blacks. UST-specific lenticular and Fresnel ALR screens are designed to accept light from the projector's steep angle while rejecting light from other directions, but no passive screen makes room light irrelevant.
150 inches is where construction becomes part of the buying decision
The NothingProjector page explicitly says sizes above 120 inches use a splicing process and may have a fine seam. Other brands also use seams, creases, custom material joins or newer seamless Fresnel construction at large sizes. Ask this question before you buy—not after the frame is on the wall.
