UST projection exaggerates small alignment errors. A screen that is slightly unlevel or not perfectly flat can create visible geometry problems because the projector light hits the surface at a steep angle.
Before assembly
- Confirm the wall can support the screen and frame.
- Verify the final image center relative to seating and speakers.
- Use the projector's placement chart to establish cabinet height and wall distance.
- Plan power, HDMI and network cable routes before the screen blocks access.
Keep the screen flat
Ripples and waves are especially visible with UST projection. Fixed-frame screens use tension to keep the optical surface flat. Follow the manufacturer's tensioning sequence rather than pulling one side tight first.
Level the screen before adjusting the projector
Use a real level on the screen frame. Projector digital keystone should not be the first fix for a crooked frame. Mechanical alignment preserves image quality and sharpness better than aggressive digital correction.
At 150 inches, plan for help
A 150-inch frame is physically large. Even if individual components are light enough for one person, lifting and wall-mounting the assembled frame is safer and more accurate with multiple people.
